About the kit: Sunprint Kits are based on the cyanotype process, which has been used by artists since its development in the 19th century. Objects that eclipse the sun’s light will show up in white, with the rest of the paper turning a vibrant Prussian Blue. Gradients between these two ends are easy to achieve. Make prints of physical objects or transfer digital images via transparency sheet. Layering techniques, motion, and manipulation of the paper itself are all implements in the Sunprint Kit user’s toolbox. *via Sunprint®
This kit is the larger version of the standard Sunprint Kit. It contains 15 sheets of 8 x 12 inch Sunprint paper–offering up a larger canvas to work with–an acrylic sheet to protect the paper while it's outside, and instructions.
Why it’s worth your time: If you’re interested in trying cyanotype printing, but don’t know where exactly to start–or if you just want to skip the two step application of potassium ferricyanide and ammonium citrate to the canvas of your choice–look no further. This kit is the perfect activity to fill the upcoming sunny, dry days of spring and summer.
