About: The Barbarians were a garage rock band from Massachusetts formed in the 60’s, perhaps most notable for their near legendary one-handed drummer, Victor Moulton–or Moulty. Though this detail might be the most notable, it’s not the sole reason they are known. With the song “Are You a Boy or Are You a Girl” and their iconoclastic spirit, The Barbarians became one of the first punk bands.
Why it’s worth your time: Besides being trailblazers for punk, The Barbarians also created an album that is simply fun to listen to–an album that definitely has you craving many repeat listening sessions.
